            Summary: Chronote is a 100% offline, privacy-first productivity application. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, alarm schedules, timers, notes, or media attachments.
        

1. Zero Data Collection

Chronote operates completely offline. We do not require account registration, login credentials, email addresses, or phone numbers. All data you create within the app—including alarms, sleep cycle calculations, countdown timers, stopwatch lap records, notes, checklist tasks, and attachments—resides solely and exclusively in your device's private local sandbox storage.

2. Local Storage & Security

Alarms & Notes Database: Stored locally using Android Room SQLite database on your device.
User Preferences: Stored locally via Jetpack DataStore.
Note Attachments: Files and photos you attach to notes are copied to the app's internal, sandboxed storage directory (/files/attachments/) and are inaccessible to other apps.
PIN Protection: When you lock a note with a 4-digit PIN, verification happens strictly on-device.

3. Device Permissions Utilized

Chronote requests only the minimum essential permissions necessary to perform its core functions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To display ongoing countdown timer status in the notification shade and trigger alarm notifications.
USE_EXACT_ALARM & SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: To trigger alarms at the exact scheduled minute, even during Android battery-saving Doze mode.
VIBRATE: To provide tactile haptic feedback on button presses and vibrate during alarm ringing.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To reschedule your alarms automatically if your device restarts.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: To display the alarm ringing screen over the lock screen so you can easily dismiss or snooze it.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE: To ensure countdown timers continue counting down reliably in the background without being killed by the OS.

4. Third-Party Services & Analytics

Chronote does not include any third-party SDKs, advertising networks (no AdMob, no Unity Ads), analytics libraries (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics), or tracking scripts. No data is ever shared with third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

Chronote does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy in the future, the revised policy will be posted within the application settings.
